1 - Remove the high level light as per the instructions earlier in the guide. 2 - Disconnect the wires from the light and also the washer hose and put the light safely to oneside. 3 - Ease out the rubber flexy tube from the tailgate and start to feed out the cable for the light along with the washer hose.

On a side note, I drove the 2009 Punto(bought in Aug 2009) for about 50,000km before I sold it. Now, I have driven the current car for a substantial distance too and overall been very impressed over the improvements it has over its elder sibling. The car negates a lot of drawbacks its elder sibling had.
The Car is Top End Model, but when i test drove one of my Friends Linea, iwas not impressed with the Pickup even after comapring to 75 HP Punto, dont know why. And again as you pointed out its 10 month laying at dealership.
