For far cry 4, not for fixing shadow bug, I intend to increase and stabling my fps. Also my Far Cry is legal directly from Ubi Connect not pirated. Edit: Nevermind, I found it. In C:\User\user\Document\My Games\Far Cry 4\bb-78d99c-fb9b\GamerProfile.xml I turn off shadow quality and shadow cinematic quality.
On my Toshiba it runs at 10-20 FPS at minimum / lowest possible settings, so I'm expecting it to gain at least a few more frames per second on the more powerful Dell. Unfortunately it crashes upon launch, with a pop-up message saying "Far Cry 4 has stopped working. Kyratis may not like you very much." right click on the games .exe file in the far cry 4 \ bin folder. select properties. select the compatibility tab. check the box that says run as Administrator. set it to run in a windows 7 compatabilty mode. you can also run the windows 10 compatiblilty trouble shooter from that same window.
Basically FC4 uses 15% or so of core 2 (likely just random work) and the game seems to run exclusively on core 3. Obviously dual core systems don't have a core 3. But in reality it's using 1.25 cores. A dual core should be fine, but there's something wrong with the game.
I've been trying to play Far Cry 4 for almost 2 weeks and it keeps freezing, the screen turns black, and I have to alt+tab out to the task manager to close my now 'not responding' game. This is getting extremely annoying because my GPU drivers are up to date, I validated my files 3 times (repaired it when it found corrupted files the first time), I unplugged all USB devices except my keyboard
